Ikea sounds like a good idea--it's not that easy to find ready-made window treatments that are long enough for our high ceilings. Otherwise you have to go custom made.
Also, if you belong to Costco, they do custom blinds and draperies and you get 20% back in a card that you can use in the store. We didn't get our blinds there, but we had some other work done through Costco.
The huge glass doors that we have are challenging and expensive to cover. When we first moved in, I didn't know what to do about our bedroom window/doors (we live in a corner unit.) As a stop gap, we got window shades installed in sections on the door. They are a lot cheaper than a blind. When we finally did get a nice blind installed, we were able to keep the shades in place, and we use them when it's really cold for a little extra insulation.
