When i contact Dish Network they said they only rent and do not sell the equipment because it most likely won't be compatible with other Dish Networks set ups if you move.

I didn't have a problem getting in touch with Roddy, in fact, he was extremely nice and helpful (I used his new #). I think that he has gotten the hint that people are upset. That said, I think that it is ridiculous that in addition to paying for HDTV service and instillation, we have to purchase the $250 receiver. As Roddy explained it, the contract is such that he is unable to let us rent them. He also implied that this was not his fault and that when there is a renegotiation that he'd like to change it. (Again this was not spoken, but illicitly implied). Is there anyway we can immediately add a clause where he agrees to to allow owners to rent the technology instead of buying a piece of equipment that will be outdated in 6 months? I'm not a contract lawyer so I don't know the ins, but if both parties agree, can't a change or addition to the "grey area" be made?

Not mad, but frugal.
