Sadly, this is currently correct. AT&T has about 15 routers, each with
tons of ports, scattered around the Chicago area, so they have finite
capacity to deliver highspeed Internet accounts. The router for our
area is full. When a customer cancels, one will open. You might be able
to get on a waiting list.

I called AT&T this afternoon and discussed the problem and submitted
a high-speed Internet escalation request to see if it's possible to
get them to add more ports to the router that servers our area (not
just the building). It will take about 7-10 days for them to check
into it and get back to us. If they could add more ports, they weren't
sure how long it would take to deliver service, but they said, "Not
long."
