If you're asking how a guest could use the intercom at the front door to
contact you so you can buzz them in, you can't without a landline phone.
Instead, guests call you with their cell phone and you have to go
downstairs to let them in.

If you're asking if you need a landline for access to DSL, you don't.
AT&T can set you up without a landline, although for the higher-end
packages, it's $5 more a month than with landline.
