Even if 24x7 access is important but to have 11pm to 6am maintenance window access is required. In telco that is when networks are upgraded because that is when people generally are not using the system so you are guaranteed to have the least service impact. That general rule of thumb applies to every market in the US. There tends to be one city that violates that and it is Vegas... The city that never sleeps. We can probably request to be notified of planned maintenance. Unplanned maintenace which shouldn't be often at all we may have to live with.

All,

I have contact First Properties and reported the issues with Verizon
Wireless on the roof. I've asked First Properties to contact Verizon and
forward the complaints from the residents. If we don't get results, I'll
be placing a call to Verizon my self.

Tom is correct, the residents on the 7th floor generally do pay more in
assessments. It all has to do with the percentage of ownership in the
building.

I was not on the board when the Verizon Wireless contract was executed,
but I did attend all the meetings. One of the issues that I raised as a
major concern was the 24x7 access to the equipment on the roof. I think
we'll all agree that the additional revenue we receive from Verizon
Wireless is a nice benefit, but keep in mind nothing is for free. The
majority of the time Verizon workers are not on the roof and everyone is
happy. Occasionally, when they are on the roof in the dark hours of the
night, people are going to be a little upset due to the activity going on
over their heads. When the association entered into the contract to allow
Verizon to put their equipment on the roof, one of the stipulations was
24x7 access. Please keep in mind, the Verizon night shift workers have
very little concern for the residents under foot.

I'll do my best to track down the parties involved and report the
problems. Please let me know if this happens again.

Kelly:

I heard the same thing starting at about 3:45 am. Whoever it was had
been moving around for over an hour above my bedroom. Not only was it
very annoying, but a little creepy, as well.

Chris, Brian, Jim, Derek:

Can you please let us know who it was on the roof all night? If it was
Verizon, someone should contact them to let them know their workers were
apparently screwing around all night, because my condo is on the other
side of the building from the Verizon tower, and there are no conduits,
etc. that run in my direction.

When I moved into the building six years ago, I was told the residents
on the 7th floor, in general, pay higher assessments. As near as I can
tell, the only thing I get for the higher assessments is crap falling in
from the roof every time the wind blows hard or someone is walking
around on the roof. Since this person was on the roof for over an hour
right above my bedroom, I got crap falling in from the roof...on
me...while I was trying to sleep...for over an hour. Judging by the
time stamp on Kelly's e-mail (1:34 am), this person was on the roof for
at least 3 hours. What in the hell were they doing on the roof for 3
hours? I don't think it's too much to ask to let us know.
