Owners,
Am I the only one who has actually visited the dishnetwork website. The
FAQ said that Dishnetwork would be cheaper. I found that to be wrong. For
example, if you have 2 receivers Prime Cable they charge EXACTLY $40.52. That
price includes all taxes and everything else they charge. The Digital
Dynamite 100 home plan, which is basically the same thing as Prime's 2
receiver price, charges $39.99. That is not including the mandatory
entertainment tax, mandatory access fee, mandatory FCC REG. fee and other
similar fees. Where are the BIG savings?? There are none, in fact, you would
pay a few bucks (~ $4.00) more a month. On top of that, we have to stick with
them for 10 years. Here is another little gem. They actually have a plan for
$49.99 which includes 2 receivers, 150 basic channels and a price guarantee
until May 2003. You have to pay for a price guarantee? Yes!!!!! If that does
not make you stop and think I don't know what will. Yes, you do get 150
channels, but did you know that over 50 of those channels are radio stations.
The 100 channel package also has 50 radio stations. What about the movie
channels? The premium package is another $40.00. So, what is the grand total
if you want the 150 channels + movies, that comes out to be about $85 bucks a
month. WOW. BIG SAVINGS.
