Subject: this is getting real old

I am going to keep sending these messages until management gets the idea, that
I, for one, am losing patience with this recurring situation. I'm sure that I
am not the only owner who would like an answer (other than the "excuse d'jour"
that we keep being offered).
A solution for the problem with the garage door/gates not closing has been
suggested. We were instructed "If the gates are open, anyone can make sure the
sensor (which is about 4 inches of off the ground,) is clear of snow, and the
reflector at the opposite end of the sensor is also clear." (This is sort of
like fixing the back door by putting up a sign telling us to close it
tightly). Well, guess what? There is nothing blocking either sensor and THE
DOOR REMAINS OPEN. I don't know what's up with the gates, but they too, with
the exception of the side gate, are open. There is obviously a problem. Has
the door company been contacted? We need to get this fixed while the system
is still in warranty. Are we going to have to spend the next four months with
unsecured parking, and therefore an unsecured building? The stairwell going
from the underground to the building is creepy even when the overhead door is
operational. Now that it is accessible to anyone, it is even scarier to think
that there could very easily be a stranger lurking there. In addition, the
rear door is constantly left open by less vigilant residents (it was unlatched
on Sunday when I used it). This means that anyone can get into the building.
If the door/gates were left open by management on purpose, this too is a
problem. It would definitely be a major inconvenience if our vehicles were
stuck in the lots, but the solution to this problem would be to get it fixed
so that we can be sure the gates/door function in the cold weather.
Mary
