Since I spend a lot of time bitching about the garage door/gate situation I
figured I should also let anyone who cares know what I found out from the
serviceman yesterday. He was working on the overhead when I got home and gave
me this info: 1)A "thaw/freeze" cycle should not affect the mechanics of the
door. 2)The overhead has a "limit" which governors whether or not the door
can close. This limit is affected by even a slight build up of snow, ice on
the driveway directly below the doors. He claims he told the responsible
parties that the driveway needs to be kept shoveled down to the pavement.
3)The gates are affected by the snow that was plowed up against the fence. He
says the plow driver should have known that he was causing a problem. 4)Parts
were checked and serviced if necessary.
It's good to know that the problem is being given attention. Now we can only
hope that the serviceman's advice is taken by the responsible parties.
Mary
