The radio was stolen from my car while it was parked in the underground garage. Both the police and my insurance agent were amazed when I told them that access to the garage is often unlimited because the side driveway gate malfunctions and stays opened. Perhaps it is time to consider installing some sort of pedestrian gate on the side drive. If this isn't possible (it was once mentioned that the rear door on the unit at the end of the driveway won't allow for installation of a pedestrian gate) maybe one could be put next to the gate into the alley from the upper deck. The gate on the side of the building is used constantly. If you consider the number of people who have dogs in the building and the number of trips they make out with the animals (w/ the exception of the unit owner? tenant? who allows the dog to use the balcony)it is easy to see that the gate is probably opened and closed 100 times a day. It seems that the potential for breakdowns of electronic equipment, especi!
!
ally oft-used equipment, is greater than for a simple swinging gate that shuts automatically behind us.
Even more aggravating to those of us who bought and are paying assessments for secure parking spots is the protracted absence of the door to the garage. I realize the wind has caught it and damaged it and several fixes have been tried, but it has been missing for quite some time now, allowing anyone who can get through the malfunctioning side gate to get into the garage.
