I want to address a potential misunderstanding of the recent discussion on
the potential tax sale of a number of parking spaces. Last night on the
bulletin board a notice was posted that contained misleading information. A
tax sale is just that, a sale of the right to the taxes. It is not a sale of
the parking space to cover delinquent taxes. It is a much less serious
matter. Ignoring it, however, will make it a more serious matter. A notice
has been mailed today to all affected parking space owners explaining how
they may clear up the issue.
John I would like to respond to your statement above. The notice posted on
the bulletin board did not have misleading information. Furthermore it was
just a note to let owners know they should check on the status of the second
bill. It had very general information which simply stated, your parking
spot could be sold for taxes.... be it sale of the right to the taxes or
however you might want to word it. Bottom line, if you don't check on the
status of your parking spot and you let two years past by, your spot will be
SOLD! I personally know someone who just received a deliquent notice for
taxes for a property that was being managed by someone, who supposedly was
paying the taxes and did not, they never received the bill and now have until
May 2, 3003 to come up with $63,000.00.............
The note was only posted to make owners aware that they needed to check
inasmuch as we received our delinquent bills in the manner that we did
........................with no explanation or anything!!!!
