Mary,
Can't help you with the main power switch, but you can turn you 110v lines into a 220v by combining both 110's.
1. Take face plate off of the curcuit breaker box, kill the washer/dryer 15amp breakers, pull the same breaker swithches out.
2. Go to home depot and get a double 30amp switch and single 220v receptical that will accept plug for washer / dryer.
3. Remove old wall receptical and install new one. Wire the washer / dryer with the 220v power cord.
4. Plug new washer / dryer in.
5. Snap new 30amp breaker into the breaker box, switch on and you should be up and running w/ 220v power.
It's easier done than written. I did mine myself.

Has anyone discovered how to turn off the main power to their unit? I am having some electrical work done to accomodate a new dryer (wasn't that GENIUS for Rezmar to supply 110 power to the washer/dryer outlets?) and need to be able to turn off all power to my unit.
