What do other mid-rise buildings (without doormen) do to prevent these
activities? Has 1P spoken to a security expert?
And are we SURE that the criminals are NOT using keys? When our unit
was broken into, the tape certainly showed that they used a key on the
outer-doors.

The combined mugging and breakin are, indeed, alarming. Yes, maybe it's
time to think of a security guard for 10 hours or so a day. While this
might raise assessment by $35-50 a month, the costs of continued
breakins
and especially of physical assaults make it even costlier NOT to have
one.
It's also of concern to pet owners who risk having dogs/cats harmed
in a breakin, or of having them lost if they run out of the unit.
Should we consider a "pets page" on the building's homepage in case
of lost pets? (eg, pet, picture, etc so owners can be contacted)
