Subject: BUILDING SECURITY ALERT AGAIN!

I hate to rant again, but BUILDING SECURITY BEGINS WITH US!!!
Today, a resident of the first floor allowed workers access to the
building, which is fine. What's not so fine is that one of the workers
exited for a while. On exiting, the worker propped open both the
interior and exterior doors of the lobby for re-entry. A resident
noticed the interior door ajar removed the object propping it
open just a few minutes later. The exterior door remained ajar until a
Board member was alerted and cleared it about 20 minutes later. The worker
returned about an hour after propping the doors open. Had the props
not been noticed, the building would have been accessible to anybody
off the street for nearly an hour.
If you notice a door propped open, please! REMOVE THE PROPS IMMEDIATELY!
Residents are also responsible for those for whom they allow access.
Remember: Building security begins with the end-user, and propping open
doors and leaving them unattended risks a substantial fine or even police
action. We won't tolerate those who put the rest of us at risk. Period.
Yes, it's only a couple of people out of a hundred who cause the problems,
and we're trying to reduce it to zero people.
End of rant.
