Joy - This may in fact be coming from the masonry walls around your sliding door. Take a look at your masonry wall. If you see white deposits on the wall, it might be a case of efflorescence. Mortar contains natural salts that will work themselves to the surface over time, and it appears as a white powder. It is normal.
