Inadvertent attempts to open the wrong door probably happens more often
than we realize. It's happened in our unit a few times, and I confess
that I've also done it once or twice over the last 8 years after
miscounting floors when doing "uphill" exercise.
Last night's incident appears to be an innocent mistake.
In reviewing logs and DVR last night between 10:45 pm to 12:05 am, there
was no unusual activity in the front or rear lobbies, and no unaccountable
movement in or out during that period. I've sent private email to Jason
explaining what the logs suggest happened around 11:30.
A review of the logs for October 24 between 1:30 and and 3:30 pm
also shows no suspicious activities or entry/exits by non-fob users
other than a delivery by FedX and the mail carrier.
This reinforces the need for all of us to be vigilant when we enter
and exit, to stop strangers from piggy-backing behind us when we
enter or exit the building, and to report suspicious activity.
It's also a reminder to shut front and rear doors if you find them
open. Sometimes, people moving out will leave the rear door open for
convenience, or workers will do the same. Please shut them if you
find them open and unattended. Others' convenience does not trump our
security!
Thanks,
