Good morning.
This weekend while returning from Skinner park Nicole and I noticed a man
crouching down behind the bushes on the corner of Jackson and Throop and
looking through the gates at our building. I approached him and asked what
he was doing and he responded "Playing a game". Long story short, the only
other people out there were us and another woman who was walking her dog. I
asked if she knew him and she said," no, I don't know him, and I saw him
peeking around the corner of your building from Van Buren when I came down".
At this point we knew something was not right, so I watched him for a moment
and started to walk toward hiim again. He took a long look at our building
as he walked away. Then when he noticed me watching him and continuing to
walk toward him, he jogged a few strides toward Racine to put some distance
between us.
That said, I grabbed a cell phone and followed him to Racine, where he stood
on the corner with his arms folded looking around. He saw me watching him
and just stood there. A few moments later I saw a police car, which I
flagged down to expalin what had happened. Once he saw me talking to the
police he started walking up Racine. The police car did pursue and stop him
a few seconds later. Unfortunately I do not know the outcome, we don't even
know if the police arrested him as we had left while they were questioning
him. Either way we knew something was not right when he told us he was
"Playing a game" and there was no one who knew him out there, and no reason
for him to be crouching behind the bushes.
I am not writing to cause alarm, but I think it is important that we watch
out for each other and in this event where a man is hiding and watching our
building / or this woman that we stay vigilant and take action when needed.
The individual was a male, 5'7" - 5'9", white, 35-45 years old, brown hair,
mustache, slender build. He was wearing jeans and a grey T-shirt. I
personally had never seen him before and hope that I won't see him again.
I hope that everyone had a great weeekend and again, do not want to cause
alarm, but definitely wanted everyone to just be aware of the situation as
an FYI.
Regards,
Jay
