Subject: elevators (plural)

All the discussion lately about which elevator to use for dogs, bikes, etc. is moot since BOTH ELEVATORS ARE NOW OUT OF ORDER!!! (sort of like the CHA). John's comment this morning after going out for a bike ride was "six flights is tough on the elderly and overweight". My comment is that NO ONE should ever be expected to have to use the stairs, however infrequently the situation occurs. The front elevator should have been repaired immediately. Are they called on weekends or do we wait until Monday to call for service? And if we waited until Monday, why is it still out of order on Wednesday? Saying that it will cost us to make the elevators reliable seems, to me, to be a tactic to make the excuses more palatable. I'm sure management expected that they could get by with one elevator out of order. I guess they were wrong and hopefully have learned that repairs have to be made in a more timely manner and excuses from the elevator company met with the same skepticism that I have a!
!
bout the supposed "impossibility" of repairing them immediately.
