If you're being a difficult hygiene freak, count me as one, too.
In warm weather, this also contributes to a rather stale smell that's
embarrassing when we bring guests in the back area.
But, sometimes dogs do have a mind of their own. Maybe a solution:
1) Try to prohibit the practice
2) Cleanse the area periodically and hose it down once or twice a week.
