The mailbox lock has been reported to the USPS...they are the only ones allowed to service/repair it. The rear double doors are, I believe, beyond repair. We have made several adjustments to allow the door to close automatically and easily, but those adjustments are quickly defeated when individuals use a rock or the like to stick between the door and the jamb to keep door open.

Ali has attempted to repair the doors again, but has been unsuccessful. Either the doors need to be replaced ($2,500) or the lock can be changed restricting access to residents. I will mention this to the Board for their next meeting.

The rules committee learned this weekend that another bike at been
stolen from the storage room a few weeks ago.

The back door to the building has been ajar all but twice in the
past week that I used it. (It takes only an extra few seconds to
  push/secure it).

The south section of the mail boxes remains broken and unlocked, making
all mail in that section insecure (I reported it a week ago, but it
  remains unrepaired).

Now, if our neighbors are ripping off our newspapers and bikes, it
doesn't bode well for the security of our easily accessible mail.

Perhaps it's time to think seriously about security cameras.
