We don't need a magical major elevator upgrade. We need the elevator people to fix a problem that has been going on for YEARS. Here's a breakdown of the problem. When the vator is on the first floor, the door does not close all the way unless you jump on the floor. THis seems to happen more often in the cold weather. That would explain the most recent uproar. Besides having to jump on the floor, the real annoyance comes when you are on the sixth floor and you call the elevator from the first floor but there is nobody in it to jump. If there is nobody in it to jump, the door doesn't close all the way and the elevator stays put. They obviously cannot diagnose the problem because I learned the "jump" technique years ago. I also would estimate that this happens about 50% of the time in the winter. Maybe they come out and don't know the specific problem. Has anyone explained this problem in detail?
