No need to get huffy. My main concern is that service calls are being
placed and responded to in a timely manner. If this is taking place,
communications informing residents of the status is needed. That would
eliminate questions, misrepresentations of the facts, and certainly the need
for defensive responses when an inquiry is made. The "fact" is I've been
taking the stairs because when I've tried the elevators they were not
operable , as they were not this morning. :

Again, from the time I was informed of a broken elevator, a repair was made
the SAME DAY. (within 3 hours, to be exact).

My sentiments exactly! No need for a lofty presentation about why the
elevator is not working. What's of greater concern is why does it take so
long to get them up and running after a breakdown, and what processes are
available to prevent repair delays. Its obvious this is going to be an
ongoing problem. It would be nice to have a time commitment when service is
needed.

All the discussion lately about which elevator to use for dogs, bikes, etc.
is moot since BOTH ELEVATORS ARE NOW OUT OF ORDER!!! (sort of like the CHA).
John's comment this morning after going out for a bike ride was "six flights
is tough on the elderly and overweight". My comment is that NO ONE should
ever be expected to have to use the stairs, however infrequently the
situation occurs. The front elevator should have been repaired immediately.
Are they called on weekends or do we wait until Monday to call for service?
And if we waited until Monday, why is it still out of order on Wednesday?
Saying that it will cost us to make the elevators reliable seems, to me, to
be a tactic to make the excuses more palatable. I'm sure management expected
that they could get by with one elevator out of order. I guess they were
wrong and hopefully have learned that repairs have to be made in a more
timely manner and excuses from the elevator company met with the same
skepticism that I have!
